Alessia’s Macedonian Orthodox christening was one of those days that felt beautifully timeless, the kind of celebration full of faith, family and proud little moments you never want to forget. As a Wollongong christening photographer, these days fill my heart every single time.
The morning began at the beloved St Kliment Macedonian Orthodox Church in Port Kembla. This church is known for its rich tradition & warm community. Alessia arrived surrounded by her loving family, godparents and grandparents, all beaming with pride as she was welcomed into the faith.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered at The Grange, one of Wollongong’s favourite reception venues for
families wanting a relaxed yet elegant setting. The styling was fresh, modern and full of warmth, perfectly complementing the soft tones of the room. Fleurescent created the most gorgeous floral arrangements, adding soft, romantic textures throughout the space. Their designs always elevate a room, and this time was no exception.
Adding a playful touch to the celebration, Balloon Expressions styled stunning balloon arrangements and installations. At the centre of it all was the show stopping cake by Baekd By Bragg. Beautifully crafted, detailed and delicious. it sat proudly on display before being enjoyed by everyone.
One of the reasons I love photographing Macedonian Orthodox christenings is how beautifully community and culture comes alive. From proud grandparents to emotional parents and cheeky little cousins running around the reception… these family centred celebrations are always filled with heartfelt moments.
